Blizzard of 2015 by Carol Creswell

Peace in the city.
Dawn brought a frozen world.
Quiet.
So quiet.
No buses, honking horns, police whistles, sirens.
She looked from her fifth-story window at the scene below.
Serene.
Peaceful.

The blizzard had brought a benediction to her soul.

Winter’s Silence by Terry LeFeber

 Outside, laborers shoveled
Snow from sidewalks
As residents slept
Unaware of
What darkness had brought

Fluffy snow
Dry air
Bitter cold
Filled the sky

Sleeping inhabitants
Not aware that today

They would go nowhere
